Weather Warning and Shuttle Bus Locations

CLG Naomh Adhamháin is providing shuttle buses for supporters for the double-header in O’Donnell Park on Sunday. With the first game beginning at 12 noon the shuttle buses will be running from 11.00 am. Those coming through Letterkenny town – including Galway supporters – can avail of a bus at Black’s Corner near the old Dunnes’ Stores. This location, relative to where O’Donnell Park is, is shown on the map below.

Those coming from the west of the County (via Glenswilly) can avail of a bus from Larkin’s Carpark at the Millbridge Bar, Newmills. Again the map below shows the location of the shuttle bus pick-up relative to O’Donnell Park.

There is a yellow weather warning in place for the whole country for Saturday and Sunday. As things stand at present, however, all GAA games throughout the country are scheduled to go ahead as fixed. In terms of the expected weather, there will be strong winds all weekend; rainfall is expected to be worst in the Northern half of the country on Saturday evening. From about 5am on Sunday morning, heavy rainfall is expected across most of the country, worst in the West but it should clear (or at worst turn lighter) as the morning develops. On this basis, if the pitch is playable the games should be able to proceed and conditions for spectators journeying to the match, and at the game itself, should be tolerable.

While it is too early to say what affect the incoming weather will have on O’Donnell Park – the St Eunan’s ground-staff will be monitoring the pitch on an ongoing basis – given the nature of the surface, and its current state of readiness, despite the expected heavy rainfall the club is confident the pitch will be fine for both games.
