There were wins for Gaeil Fhánada, Red Hughs and Malin in Division 3, while Naomh Bríd overcame Naomh Muire in our featured game.

Despite defeat Burt remain well clear at the top with 16 points from 11 games, while Naomh Muire Conmhaigh (10 games), Gaeil Fhánada (11 games) and Maláinn (11 games) are all on 12 with Red Hughs (9 games) one point further back on 11 points. Naomh Bríd’s win pulls them well clear of the relegation battle while Naomh Muire and Naomh Ultan are adrift on 5 league points at the bottom of the table.

It was the 23rd minute before Naomh Muire’s Adam O’Brien registered their first point by which time seven different scorers had eight for Naomh Bríd. Having broken their duck the visitors soon notched a second but two excellent Darragh Brogan points left it 0-10 to 0-2 at the break. Naomh Muire were also down to 14 men, Patrick Rodgers red carded for a tackle that ended Declan McCafferty’s interest in the game – he was replaced by Callum Gallagher.

 

Darragh Brogan resumed where he left off at the start of the second half, but Naomh Muire threatened a revival in the fourth minute when Sean the Yank Boyle converted a penalty to leave it 1-2 to 0-11. Naomh Bríd’s Padraig McCafferty’s was also lined for a second yellow and Aidan O’Gara reduced the gap back to five points. Naomh Bríd, however, did not panic and that was as close as the visitors got.
