Naomh Conaill kept the pressure on unbeaten Cill Chartha with a win a Ballybofey. Glenswilly completed the double over Milford to pull well clear of relegation worries, Realt na Mara win vital League points in Falcarragh and St Eunans turn the tables on Gaoth Dobhair.

Naomh Conaill                  2-13                           Sean MacCumhaill                 1-9

Cill Chartha                        0-15                           Naomh Micheál                     1-11

Cloich Cheann Fhaola       2-7                             Realt na Mara                        2-12

Naomh Ádhamhnáin         3-14                           Gaoth Dobhair                       2-9

Gleann tSúilí                        2-11                           Baile na nGalloglach             0-11

It was nip and tuck between Sean MacCumhaills and Naomh Conaill in the first quarter, until a MacCumhaill’s goal forced the home side to move up a gear scoring four points in the last ten minutes of the first half to lead 0-7 to 1-3 at the break. Two goals for Naomh Conaill mid-way through the second half put daylight between the teams and the home side were comfortable thereafter.

A goal from Edward O’Reilly six minutes into the game gave St Michael’s a 1-2 to 0-1 lead but Cill Charta quickly closed the gap to level matters and the sides were still level at the break 1-4 to 0-7. Kilcar moved two points ahead early in the second half, the visitors came roaring back with four points on the trot, Kilcar levelled it up again and from there to the end there was never more than a point between the teams. As the game moved into additional time, St Michael’s led by a Michael McGinley point, Mark Sweeney levelled it up two minutes into additional time and barely a minute later Mark McHugh saved Kilcar’s 100% record with a converted side-line free.

Hungry to avenge their narrow, and late, defeat to Glenswilly last week, Milford hit four points in the first six minutes but Glenswilly stayed in contention throughout with goals from Joe Gibbons and Eamonn Ward keeping the home side in touch and the teams were level 2-3 to 0-9 at the break. The second half, however, belonged to Glenswilly and they ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Our feature game – Cloich Cheann Fhaola and Realt na Mara – is covered in a separate news report, while in O’Donnell Park an Eoin McGeehin hat-trick enabled St Eunans to avenge their defeat in Machaire Gathlán last Sunday. Eunans dominated the first twenty minutes of the game leading by 2-9 to 0-2 at one stage, although the visitors finished the half strongly to leave it 2-9 to 1-5 at half-time. Any hopes of a Gaoth Dobhair revival, however, ended seven minutes into the second half when McGeehin completed his hat-trick.
