Dún na nGall  6-13

An Liatroim    0-5

The Donegal u17 Hurlers had their first outing, against Leitrim, in the Celtic Challenge last night in Fr Tierney Park, Ballyshannon. Leitrim opened brightly with an excellent point from play. However, Donegal responded instantly and in a devastating ten minute period scored an unanswered 3-1 from play. Leitrim struggled to create scoring chances with the Donegal defence outstanding. The Donegal team continued on the front foot with the management team able to bring on their full complement of substitutes throughout the game giving the panel valuable competitive playing time. Leitrim tried hard throughout but Donegal eventually eased to a 6-13 to 0-5 victory.

At the end of the game Ruairi Campbell received an award from referee Pat Maguire as Donegal’s outstanding player on the night. The thoughts of the Donegal management team of Eunan Ó’ Donnell, Tommy O’Neill and Daithí Roberts will now turn to next Wednesday’s tough assignment, away to Roscommon.
