Donegal minors need all the support they can get on Saturday evening in a tough opening round game in the Electric Ireland Ulster Minor Championship when Tyrone, the McGuigan cup-holders, visit Ballybofey. The two sides met in the league stage of McGuigan cup back in the early weeks of March when the Tyrone lads, unbeaten throughout their campaign, earned a two point win 1-11 to 1-09 in Strabane.

Should Donegal beat Tyrone their next game will be on the weekend of May 11th against one of the other Round 1 victors, picked in an open draw. A loss to Tyrone is not the end of the road for the Donegal lads. Rather, they will then enter a backdoor system for all teams defeated in the first round of games. In this scenario, they play again the following Saturday May 4th. The details of the Ulster Minor championship format was outlined in a news item posted earlier this week.

So, get to MacCumhaill Park Saturday and give the boys plenty of support and encouragement. Dún na nGall abú.
