Donegal’s promotion hopes in Roinn 2 of the Allianz League were dented last week by Fermanagh but the youngsters from the Erne County posed little threat in the McGuigan Cup minor league and u-16 Buncrana Cup games on Saturday in Ballyshannon. The u-17 McGuigan cup game ended Donegal 3-16 Fermanagh 0-0 in a very wet and windy Fr Tierney Park, while the Donegal Buncrana cup squad scored 8-13 to Fermanagh’s 0-3 across the road in Munday’s Field. Next week it should be a lot tougher as both teams head to Tyrone on Saturday, March 9th.
