Letterkenny Gaels Club Notes.

Pride of place this week goes to Letterkenny Gaels minor hurlers on the Donegal squad who won the Ulster Shield against Tyrone. Players and squad members were Cahair O’Dochartaigh, Brian Diver, Padraig Sweeney, Brendan Finney & Peadar O’Connachain.

The senior and reserve footballers travelled to Dunkineely at the weekend to take on Naomh Brid. The reserves drew their game and the seniors lost. This weekend Buncrana are the opposition for both teams. See Facebook for throw in times. All support welcome.

The club ran a very successful public speaking competition at the club house on Monday and Tuesday evening past. The theme was Guthanna/Voices 1916 where local children told stories from the perspective of characters who witnessed the events in Dublin in 1916. Thanks to all who participated, attended and supplied home baking.

Letterkenny Gaels were represented in Croke Park on Sunday by club members Hazel & Mark Mc Fadden who were part of the Citizens Parade in the Laochra spectacular which was preformed after the Division 1 Allianz League Final.

Bingo continues every Monday in Arena 7. The Jackpot this week is €1650. Doors from 8pm. Eyes down 9pm.

Applications are invited for CLG Dhun Na nGall Gaeltacht Scholarships.

Gaeltacht scholarships are also available for Colaiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne and could be won by young Letterkenny Gaels members. The deadline for these applications is 29th April. See Club Facebook for more details.

The underage football training continues every Sunday morning at Pairc na nGael from 11am to 12 noon. Please bring water and a mouth guard. New players are always welcome.

The U-16 football training continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 5.15pm.

Outdoor Hurling training for U-6, U-8 & U-10 continues every Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Hurls and helmets provided. New players welcome.

U-12 to U-18 hurling continues every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm.

Circuit training continues every Wednesday night in the clubhouse from 7 to 8pm.

U-12 girls football training takes place at the pitch every Sunday morning from 11am-12noon. All welcome.

This year we will have Ladies and Girls football for u-12, u-14, Minor and Senior.

Michael Murphy Sports are currently stocking a range of Gaels Club merchandise including jerseys, training tops, hats & scarfs.

Camogie Training continues at Pairc na nGael every Monday from 6pm-7.30pm for U12s, 14s, 16s & 18s and Friday evenings from 6-7.30pm for U8s, 10s, 12s & 14s.
