SYMPATHY

We offer sympathies on behalf of everyone at the Club to Shannon McGroddy on the death of her grandfather, Peter Shevlin.  Peter was a noted Downings  footballer.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhílis.

COMÓRTAS PHEIL NA GAELTACHTA

Tháinig deireadh le feachtas na mbliana nuair a d’éirigh le Baile na nGallóglach an lámh in uachtar a fháil ar fhoireann sinsear na bhfear i ndiaidh am breise ar an Satharn seo caite.

AllSportsStore LEAGUE DIVISION 1

Both men’s teams commence their 2016 league campaigns on Sunday next, March 20th.  The seniors play first, at 1.30 pm, followed by the Reserves at 3pm.

UNDER 10 TRAINING for BOYS AND GIRLS

Easter Saturday, 26th April sees the start of the season for our under 10 boys and girls, with training from 10.30 to 11.45 at the Burn Road.  And don’t forget your gumshields, they are mandatory at training and at games.

PITCH

The pitch is opened in a limited capacity until maintenance work has been completed, and hopefully with a bit more sunshine we will see some grass growing.  In the meanwhile, all managers are asked to note that the field is for ball work and matches only.  Kevin McCafferty has very kindly made a field available adjacent to the pitch for warm-ups and drills, and all teams, home and visiting are asked to warm-up in Kevin’s field for the year.

REFEREES

We are seeking to recruit both underage and senior referees, anyone interested, please contact any member of the Executive.

CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING
We will be running a child protection training course in the near future.  Anyone coaching any team or holding a position within the club needs to be a registered club member, and undertake child protection training.

LOTTO

This week’s draw takes place in Nora’s in Kilmacrennan with Joe O’Connell and Pauric Hilferty co-ordinating.

BINGO

Thanks to all for the great support and help in the first two weeks, greatly enjoyed by all who came along, and we look forward to your continued support.lgc
