Club Notes: 13th of September 2015

County Hurling Final:

A disappointing day for the Hurlers after Saturday’s game. They were 6 points down at half time but really put it up to Burt in the second half but lost out on by a single point. Well done lads, hold the heads high and the Hurling season still has a lot it can reward you with starting with the Ulster Tain Division Final on Saturday. Time and Venue to be confirmed.

Under 16 hurlers:

Congratulations to our Under-16 Hurlers on their magnificent win in the B League Final last Thursday evening in Killygordon versus a strong Letterkenny Gaels team. The lads came back and won out by 6 points in the end. Best of luck to Justin, Marcel and all the lads in the championship.

Senior Football:

The seniors continued their good run of form with a victory over Naomh Columba on Sunday to make it three wins out of three. Result: Seán Mac Cumhaills – 5.08, Naomh Columba – 1.14

Junior B Championship:

Our third team are in action in the semi-final of the championship on Saturday versus St. Eunans. At the moment there is no venue confirmed. Details to follow on social media once they become available.

Airtricity Walk:

The annual Airtricity walk up around the windmills in Meentycat will take place between 9.00am and 12.30pm on Saturday the 26th of September. This has proven to be a great source of funding for the club to prepare our teams and once again we are asking for people’s continued support on the day. We would ask all kids and parents to consider walking for us on the day. The more walkers we have, the more money we get back from Airtricity. Any and all numbers of walkers are welcome to take part and groups of four who register and complete the walk will be entered into a draw for a €100 clubhouse voucher or if a minor team wins then €25 worth of club gear for each person. Any juvenile member raising €50 on a card will receive a brand new design of Mac Cumhaills t-shirt. Cards will be distributed to teams in the coming days.

Bingo:
The Bingo takes place in Villa Rose on Sunday night with an 8.30pm start. The Snowball jackpot is €9,000 for 45 numbers or less. All are very welcome.

Lotto Results:
There was no winner of this week’s Lotto. The numbers drawn were 13, 15, 22 and 24. There were three match three winners; Kathleen O’Hagan, Ballindrait, Stephen Melly, Dungloe and Dakota Mc Menamin each receive €50. Next week’s jackpot is €6,800 and Gary Dunnion’s team is selling.

Training Schedule:

New players to all teams are more than welcome. Training takes place at the club unless otherwise specified. If there is a change of time/location it will be noted on Facebook or sent via text. Training will cost 2 Euro every week, and all players must have their membership paid. Please bring gum shield and a bottle of water.
