Many leading health experts nationally and locally are contributing to the first ever Donegal GAA Health & Wellbeing conference on April 15th from 7.00pm (registration from 6.00pm) in Jackson’s Hotel Ballybofey.
This free event is aimed at supporting / educating and invigorating all those GAA volunteers who are driving this important work within the Association. It should be of particular benefit to players, coaches, managers, referees and club officers across all our disciplines of Gaelic Football, Hurling, Ladies Football, Camogie, Handball and Rounders. However, the variety of practical advice and information will be of benefit to those involved with clubs in any capacity and indeed any sport who are interested in learning more about Health and Wellbeing
Especially welcome are the new Club Health and Wellbeing Officers.
There is a great mix of topics from a general overview of Health and Wellbeing in the GAA to mental health, cardiac screening and concussion, diet and nutrition and the benefits of exercise in preventing the ‘early onset cardiac disease’ and the effects of drugs and alcohol on playing, training and recovery.
