Malin GAA Club Notes 09/03/2015

Malin won their second game in the Ulster senior league last weekend against Bryansford away in County Down on a scoreline of Bryansford 0-10 Malin 1-11. The Malin team on the day were: Declan Lafferty, Ryan Doherty, Kieran McColgan, Michael McLaughlin, Charles Byrne, Damien Harkin, Gary Collins, Anthony Kelly, Niall McLaughlin, Connor McColgan, Dan McDaid, Paul McLaughlin, Brendan McLaughlin, Conor Byrne, Gary Farren. Subs used Patrick Kelly, Christopher McLaughlin and Jonathan McCarron. The seniors are home to former all-Ireland champions and 2013 Ulster Club Champions Ballinderry next Sunday at 12.00 in what will be their biggest test yet. Malin minors beat Moville on Friday night on a tough night for football on a scoreline of Moville 0-07 Malin 2-09 with the sides level at half time. Next up is a match against Naomh Padraig Muff away on Saturday before entertaining Burt on St. Patricks day at home.


Malin ladies are running a Big Breakfast on St. Patrick’s day from 9.30 – 2.00 upstairs in the club house. This is a major fundraiser for our Ladies teams so come along and support the girls. The cost of the breakfast is €5 for adults and €3 for childern so whether you are coming down to watch the minor team or heading for a parade in the afternoon why not come down and get a good breakfast and help the ladies in the process.


Malin GAA will host their first ever Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser in aid of our underage boys and girls teams on Easter Sunday Night the 5th of April at 8.00pm in the Plaza, Buncrana. Come out and watch club stalwarts, members and local superstars take to the dancefloor and show off their moves. Guaranteed to be a night you do not want to miss. Tickets are now on sale at only €15. High demand is expected so get your ticket early. Club membership will be collected in the club house on a Sunday morning from 11am – 1pm from now until end of March. No membership will be accepted after the 31st of March. No one other than fully paid up club members for 2015 will be considered for all Ireland tickets. The cost of club membership is €20 per non-playing adult and €2 for non-playing child.


Malin senior players are running a poker tournament fundraiser upstairs in the clubhouse on Friday 13th of March. The tournament format is a €50 freeze out and €10 registration fee with 15,000 starting stack blinds, 25/50 increasing every twenty minutes, paying top six players. Registration is from 8.00 with a 9.00 sharp start,

Senior Ladies training every Tuesday and Thursaday from 7.30-8.30 indoor


There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €900. Sequence drawn was 7-6-4-5-1-2-3. €50 winner was Dinny McGonagle, Drumcarbit. The €20 seller prize went to D and P McLaughlin, Drumcarbit . Next week’s jackpot is €950.
