CLUB LOTTO

The fourth Club Lotto draw of the year took place on Monday the 16th of February at the Clubhouse. The numbers drawn on the night were 9, 18, 22 and 24. There was no jackpot winner. Matthew McNally, Mulnagung matched three numbers and won €100.

Next week’s Club Lotto jackpot is €2350.

MINOR MEMBERSHIP FEE

Following the Club’s monthly meeting on Wednesday the 11th of February, the Club Committee has set the cost of Minor Membership at €20 for the year ahead. For those families seeking to take out two or more Minor Memberships, €20 will be charged for the first Minor Membership, while €10 will be charged for each Minor Membership thereafter.

Please note that in order to be applicable for Minor Membership, you must be less than 18 years of age on the 1st of January 2015.

THE WEEK AHEAD

U-14 Ladies, U-16 Ladies and Minor Ladies training has now been increased to two sessions per week. The first session of the week takes place on Monday evenings at the Training Pitch in Rossgier from 6PM to 7PM, while the second session takes place in the Lifford Community Centre on Wednesday evening from 7PM to 8PM. All players are asked to contribute €2 towards the cost of each training session.

Men’s team training continues as normal on Mondays and Thursdays at the Training Pitch in Rossgier. All players are asked to be on the pitch, ready to begin training at 7:20PM sharp on both nights. With Division 4 of the All County League due to commence on March 22nd, it is essential that all players attend. A number of pre-season friendly games have been organised for the team and are due to be announced in the coming weeks.

Irish classes with Fergal McLaughlin continue as normal at the Clubhouse every Thursday night from 7:30PM to 8:30PM.

Under-8 and Under 10 team training has now moved outdoors and takes place on the Astroturf at the Lifford Resource Centre Astroturf every Saturday morning from 11AM to 12PM. Any children born between 2005 and 2009 are more than welcome to attend. All players are asked to contribute €2 towards the cost of renting the Astroturf.

As always, new players are more than welcome to join any of the Clubs teams.

NETTINGDIRECT.COM DRAW

Following last week’s appeal for votes, the club has successfully reached the 500 vote mark necessary to be entered into the €6,000 prize giveaway draw being held by Netting Direct of Kilcar. At the time of last week’s appeal, we had received approximately 280 votes. Less than four days later, we had successfully reached the 500 vote mark, with over a week’s worth of voting still to take place. Many thanks to everyone who took time out to vote for the Club via Facebook. Special thanks must also go to Ladies Team player Megan McNulty for entering the club into the draw.

STARS IN THEIR EYES FUNDRAISER

As mentioned a number of weeks ago, the Club has opted to hold a ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ competition as its first fundraiser of 2015. So far, we have managed to sign up Garth Brooks (we promise there will be no repeat of last year’s Croke Park fiasco…), Neil Diamond, CeeLo Green, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, as well as the exceptional Paul ‘Big P’ Simpson from Strabane. The event takes place in Bannigans Bar, Main Street, Lifford on Saturday the 21st of March at 9PM. Tickets for the event are €5 and will be available from Club Members in the coming weeks.

SYMPATHIES

The Club would to like to extend its sympathies to the family and friends of Eddie McCrory (formerly of Springhill, Ballindrait and Letterkenny), Denis Harkin (Porthall) and Olive Darcy (Castlefinn Road, Lifford) on their recent bereavements – ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
