Who we are, where we are from – our club and our county our local pride and the green and gold. In Donegal we are proud of our coast and our mountains, our Irish language and heritage, our music and the haunting beauty of our landscape.
Our county footballer’s encompass this pride of place – they provide us with a powerful, positive, almost spiritual, uplift – nowhere better felt than in Breffni last Saturday evening, in Croke Park in April or in Clones last June. They have made us Donegal Gaels so proud in recent years.
And so it is with Cavan – it’s been a while since the Breffni men have tasted such success and over two decades since they enjoyed Ulster glory. Cavan fans are already buzzing. We Donegal Gaels need to match this hunger and get to Clones in numbers with our flags, our banners and our vocal support for these boys that sacrifice so much of their life for the love of their county and the benefit of their fans.
