Any items for inclusion in the weekly Club Notes must be with the relevant PRO by 6:00 on Monday evening at the latest. This is to facilitate local press and ensure that our notes can reach as wide an audience as possible, including those currently far from home.

Both the Seniors and Reserves were defeated at home to Malin on Saturday evening. A poor second half in which they didn’t score for the whole 30 minutes was the downfall for a young Reserve team. The Seniors were short a number of regulars but battled hard throughout.
This weekend sees the Reserves and Seniors away to Naomh Conaill. Time to be confirmed.

Well done to our U8 boys and girl who took part in the blitz at The Burn Road on Saturday last. We had 4 teams taking part and all 4 teams put in super performances in what were beautiful conditions. Thanks to PJ and David for all their work in organising what was a busy day with 3 other visiting clubs in attendance. Once again the parents put up a superb array of refreshments for players and supporters alike, thanks to everyone that helped in this regard and thanks to Noreen and all the helpers who staffed the kitchen and kept everything running smoothly. Thanks also to the young whistlers who did a great job in referring the games. This week it’s back to back to coaching on Friday evening as there is an U10 blitz on Saturday morning.
Our U12s maintained their recent good form with another two impressive victories over St Eunans in terrible conditions on Monday evening at The Burn Road. The ‘A’ team put in a superb display to come out with a 3 point victory. Stephen Black, Bobby McGettigan and Aaron Reid were outstanding with all the key skills, tackling, fielding and no end of blocking on display. Sadly for our ‘B’ team it was St Eunans U12 girls who travelled to play the B game. Hard to believe St Eunans could not bring a second boys team as we had changed the throw in time to allow them to do so. Next up for Paddy Gallagher and James Cassidy’s’ charges is a trip to Newry on Saturday to take part in the biggest U12 tournament in the Country. Details will be sent to all parents during the week. Best of luck to all involved.
Our U14 boys suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of St Eunans on Wednesday last to complete what was a difficult series of Championship games. They now have the Shield competition to focus on and hopefully get a win that they deserve under their belts in the coming weeks. This Saturday we host an U10 Blitz with Cloughaneely, St Michaels and Letterkenny Gaels the visitors. Once again we will be asking parents to help with providing the refreshments; again we will be in contact between now and then. With this in mind, U6 and U8 coaching will take place on Friday evening, more details nearer the time.
A huge thanks to all the parents that have registered their children for the 2014 season in the last week. We hope to have all registrations for 2014 completed and paid by this weekend. Anyone with any queries on this should contact Eddie Harkin on 086 6082512 (boys registration) and Therese Mc Cafferty 087 7617104 (girls registration).
This year we will again host a GAA Cul camp with August 11th – 15th having been confirmed as our dates. Parents please pencil this in the Diary for your child. All boys and girls from 5 -13 are welcome to attend and it has proven a huge success in recent years. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks or from Coaching Officer Brian Trearty on 086 3406167.
Everyone involved in the club Minor Board would like to take this opportunity to wish all our young members who are sitting the Junior and Leaving Cert exams in the days and weeks ahead, the best of luck and we hope all your hard work gets you the rewards you deserve.
Senior Ladies: Congratulations to our Ladies who won the All-Ireland Gaeltacht title for the 5th time in a row last weekend in Moycullen. This is a magnificent achievement for these girls, and the scene on Monday of the community coming out to celebrate their success was greatly appreciated by the girls. That they achieved this feat, with a number of Inter-County standard players unavailable for selection is a credit to the girls who replaced them and to the management team of Trevor Alcorn, Francie Friel and Paul McDaid. Player of the weekend was undoubtedly the evergreen veteran Maureen O’Donnell, who was ably assisted by Shannon McGroddy, Roisin Friel and Captain Therese McCafferty. It was also heartening to see Jamie-Leigh Murray and Dara Kelly back on the pitch once again after lengthy injuries. Junior Ladies: Training on Thurs evening 8 pm. Training will resume to 2 nights a week next week, new players always welcome. Under 16: Training continues on Monday and Friday evening. Therese will contact with times, all girls born from 1998 welcome to come along. Under 14: The under 14 girls suffered their first defeat of the season away to Ballyshannon on Saturday last. Friday 6th June, match away to Glenties this is a must win match to stay in the championship, all support welcome in this vital game. Under 12: Training Monday evening at 5:30. Good Luck to all our young players doing the leaving and Junior cert exams .
Can the lotto coordinators for each week please send the results to the PRO for inclusion in the notes by Monday evening at the latest. They can either be sent by text to 0860858109, or by e-mail to email@example.com.
