St. Michael’s Notes

All County League

Both teams were at home to Dungloe on Saturday evening last at the Bridge.

The seniors recorded a good win  defeating Dungloe on a scoreline of St. Michael’s 1-12 Dungloe 2-2.

The St Michael’s team and scorers were: Dean McColgan; Stephen Doak, Ciaran Gallagher, Michael Gallagher; Liam Paul Ferry, Michael Cannon (0-1), Peter Witherow; Michael McGinley (0-1), Christy Toye (0-2); Ryan Langan, Ciaran Kelly, Keelan McGee; Michael Langan (0-2), Colm McFadden (0-5, 1f), Andrew Kelly (0-1). Subs: James Henry Alcorn for Ferry (56), Jamie Hunter for Witherow (57).

An understrength reserve team were defeated on a scoreline of St. Michael’s 0-8 Dungloe 2-12.

Championship

Both teams are at home to Killybegs on this Sunday the 15th at the Bridge with the throw ins at 1.30pm and 3pm.  Good luck to Eddie and Gavin and the boys on Sunday.

St. Michael’s Mini Lotto

There was no jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last.  The numbers drawn were 2,3,5,7,11,16.  This weeks Jackpot be €2150.  4 the Match 5 Winners were Mary Robinson Pound Street Dunfanaghy who bought her ticket online, Shaun Boyce Centra Dunfanaghy, Geraldine O’Donnell Ards Creeslough and Liz Foreman who won €25each. The Club would like to thank Brian and Margaret Anne Dolan, Molly’s Bar Dunfanaghy, Seamus Sweeney Kildarragh Construction Philadelphia, Shaun Langan Creeslough Pallets and Michael McColgan Dunfanaghy for their continuing sponsorship of the lotto jackpot, it is very much appreciated.

Tickets are on sale in local businesses in Dunfanaghy and Creeslough and at the Bingo Session in Massinass Community Centre Creeslough on Sunday evenings, tickets for the St. Michaels Mini Lotto can now also be purchased on line anywhere at at onlinelotto on facebook .

St. Michael’s Bingo Session

The winner of the €100 on the 5th Game at the Bingo Session in Dunfanaghy on Sunday night last was shared by Margaret Ann O’Reilly Ards Creeslough and Treasa Toye Creeslough, the winner of the €100 on the 9th Game was Molly Keaveney Chapel Road Dunfanaghy.

Every house New Car if you check on 45 Numbers or less with the Lucky number in the Panel and also called in the first five numbers of that game.

The Magic Number from 1 to 90 is drawn out every Sunday night before the bingo begins.  In addition every House winner will receive a free entry to the weekly lotto, this weeks Jackpot is €2100.  The single book is €8, Double, Double Book €12, Sheet €2. Bingo continues every Sunday evening at 8pm in the Massinass Community Centre.

Patrons please note that this months 50 Club Draw winners were €65 Grace McCarry Ards Creeslough, €35 Brian McGinley Mains Street Dunfanaghy and €25 Edel Coll Creeslough.

Good luck to St. Michael’s Minor players Eoghan Kelly and Ruairi Friel who are part of the Letterkenny Rovers squad for the FAI Intermediate Cup Final in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on this Sunday the 14th May.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Colm McFadden who’s St. Eunan’s College Team won the Treanor Cup defeating St Patrician High School Carrickmacross at Drumragh in the final.

SOS for Photographs!

If anyone has ANY team photographs from winning senior, reserve, u21 or any underage teams in league/championship/Gaeltacht she would really appreciate if you let her know. All hard copies of the photos will be returned to you safely once we make a copy of them or likewise photos can be emailed to secretary.stmichaels.donegal@gaa.ie

Club Gear

Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure is now stocking St Michaels club gear in children and adult sizes.

Initials can be embroidered on tops if requested in the shop.

St. Michael’s Minor Board

Under 8’s

Training takes place every Thursday evening at the Bridge from 6pm to 7pm, bus leaves Creeslough at 5.45pm, gumshields essential, 3 euro for bus. Blitzes starting soon, any queries contact Bernard on 0872481402.

Under 10’s

The training for the Under 10’s wsednesday’s 6pm to 7pm at the Bridge, gumshields essential, blitzes starting soon, any queries please contact Aidan on 0838017333.

Under 12’s

Training continues on Tuesday evening at the Bridge.  Bus leaving corner of the garden at 5.15pm Creeslough 5.45pm to 7pm. 3 euro for bus. And any queries contact Brandon on 0860765703.  

Under 12 Go Games have started, throw in every Wednesday evening at 7pm.

Last week the boys and girls had their first outing away to Termon, despite good performances, the hosts were the winners.

U14s

The under 14’s had a good victory over Carndonagh on Friday evening last in the Northern Semi Final. They now meet Fanad Gaels in the Final on this Friday evening at a venue to be confirmed.

Minors

The Minors played St Eunans in the Norther Final in Convoy on Wednesday evening last, losing out by the narrowest of margins.  The boys will now meet Naomh Conaill in the County Semi Final on this Wednesday the 11th May at 7.30pm in O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny.

Parish League Thanks

The Parish league finals were held on Sunday last at the Bridge and co-incided with la na Clubanna.  It was a great event and the brilliant sunshine added to the occasion.  Special thanks to the children and parents who supported the league all year, the ladies who did the gate, the people who supplied food and helped in the tea rooms, the men that set up the pitches each week and for the finals.  Those who coached and refereed games, Brian McCafferty the Piper from Crolly who added greatly to the occassion, Michael Murphy for his continued support and for sponsoring the medals.

Moses and the local press for press coverage and continued support and especially to our special guests Colm Anthony McFadden and Martin McElhinney.

Wishing all the children an enjoyable season with the club for the rest of the year.
