There were victories today for Cloughaneely, Gaoth Dobhair, Naomh Conaill and St Eunans. Naomh Conaill had it easy against Glenswilly in Davy Brenann Memorial Park running our 17 point victors. In Moyle Park, Cloughaneely dominated the early stages of the game and went in at the break leading by 0-11 to 0-5. A re-energised Milford hit three points on the trot after the break and twice closed the gap to two but Cloich Cheann Fhaola held out for a vital two league points.

Two goals for Gaoth Dobhair in an otherwise low scoring first half gave the visitors a comfortable six point half-time cushion at The Bridge – 2-2 to 0-2. With ten minutes to go St Michaels had the gap down to four points but Gaoth Dobhair finished the stronger and a goal from Kevin Cassidy in the 26th minute to make it 3-6 to 0-7 put paid to the home team’s hopes of salvaging league points. In the backfield at O’Donnell Park, drama in additional time almost saw Realt na Mara grab an unexpected two points. The visitors led 1-3 to 0-3 after 20 minutes but Eunans had a strong last ten minutes to go in two ahead 1-6 to 1-4 at the break. The home side pushed their lead out to six points by the end of the third quarter but in a frantic last five minutes, including three of additional time, they nearly surrendered the game. A Tommy Hourihane goal brought the gap to a point 2-8 to 1-12 and the Bundoran men squandered two opportunities to equalise before Eunans moved the gap out to two. With the clock ticking down Bundoran hit the underside of the bar, the ball bounced down on line and was cleared upfield for Eunans to secure the final score of the game.
