It has been a fantastic week on the pitch for the club. The week saw Northern Board Divsion 2 league quarter final and semi final wins for the U14s against Convoy and Malin respectively. The U16s had an opening league win for the U16s against St. Eunans B. On Saturday the reserves and seniors defeated Buncrana.
The seniors continued their winning start to the season with a home win against Buncrana at Pairc Colmcille on Saturday. Full time score Naomh Colmcille 3-08 0-11 Buncrana. The lads take on Aodh Ruadh at Ballyshannon on Monday (5th).
The reserves had a home win against Buncrana on Saturday evening. The lads had a 0-6 to 0-3 lead at half time, and extended this in the second half to win on a 2-13 to 0-7 scoreline. The U16s got their league campaign off to a winning start at Pairc Colmcille on Friday evening against St. Eunans B. The lads lead 2-11 to 1-2 at half time, and ended up winning on a 3-16 to 2-5 scoreline. The U14s have qualified for the Northen Board Division 2 final after wins against Convoy and Malin in the quarter- and semi-final respectively. They’re scheduled to take on Letterkenny Gaels in the final at Burt on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
The U14s lead from start to finish in the quarter final tie against Convoy at Pairc Colmcille on Monday evening. The hosts got a goal in the 7th minute to open the scoring and added a couple of points before Convoy got their first score from a free in the 14th minute. Naomh Colmcille added two more points to go six points up before the visitors got a goal from the penalty spot in the 24th minute. Two additional points followed for each team before the short whistle to leave the half time score 1-6 to 1-3 in favour of Naomh Colmcille.
Naomh Colmcille added 6 points to the scoreboard in the opening stages of the second half, with just one in reply from Convoy, before the home side got their second goal in the 22nd minute of the second half. The visitors replied with a point, before Naomh Colmcille got their third goal in the 27th minute, and added two further points before the full time whistle. Final score Naomh Colmcille 3-14 1-5 Convoy.

The U14s had an exciting victory in a very tight game at Malin on Wednesday evening in the semi-final. There was little between the sides in the opening minutes with the first four points of the match being shared between the teams. Naomh Colmcille edged in front again in the 17th minute but the hosts found the net soon after to go into a 2 point lead. Naomh Colmcille got a goal a few minutes before the interval and edged further in front with a point, but the hosts replied with the final point of the half from a free to leave the minimum between the teams. Half time score Malin 1-3 1-4 Naomh Colmcille.
Naomh Colmcille added 2 points to the scoreboard in the opening stages of the second half but a second goal for Malin in the 9th minute brought the sides level again. Naomh Colmcille then scored 1-2 before a goal from the penalty spot for Malin reduced the Naomh Colmcille lead to 2 points with five minutes of normal time remaining. Another Naomh Colmcille point was followed by a similar score for Malin in added time, but the Naomh Colmcille boys held on for a great victory. Final score Malin 3-4 2-9 Naomh Colmcille.

The Club are now taking Registrations for Adults, Family, Senior and underage players. Cost is €25 Adult, €50 Family, €50 senior player and €10 underage player. Particular reminder for adult non-playing members that you need to be registered to request Donegal tickets. The deadline for registration is fast approaching. Subscription of €2 per player (up to and including minors) per week for training. Please make sure you bring your full kit (shorts, track bottoms, boots, sports top/hoodie/coat, drink). Remember a mouth guard is needed for training sessions as well as matches.

Naomh Colmcille Weekly Lotto.
This week’s numbers are 1, 2, 5, 10, 13 and the most correct winners (matching three numbers) are Seamus McLaughlin, Rose Dowds and Andrew Crossan who win €25 each. Next week’s jackpot €5,250. The club are seeking volunteers to act as Lotto sellers and join the existing rota. The Lotto is the main regular source of fundraising for the club so if you can spare some time to help out it would be greatly appreciated. Contact Breda Friel if you’re able to help.
