Naomh Colmcille are Ulster Junior Champions

Saturday 25/11/2017 will go down in CLG Naomh Colmcilles history as a night to remember, the night when this Club on the edge of Donegal’s largest town lifted the Kerr Cup presented to the Ulster Junior Club Championship winners. Naomh Colmcille managed by former player Ryan McKinley done what many thought impossible, they went on to lift the trophy not just by luck but in style. On a score line of 1.09 to 0.06 point Naomh Colmcille were comfortable winners and with some superb shooting from distance showed that they can adapt to weather and difficult playing conditions. The clubs Red & White army were out in force and went the final whistle went the Red & White army were on the field in seconds to join in jubilant celebrations which lasted well into the night. The Donegal Champions now history makers as they become Donegal’s first Junior Champions to become Ulster Junior Club Champions. Recently the Club lost one of its founder members and Club President James Dowds (RIP) in his victory speech club captain remembered James and dedicated the win to James, a touching tribute to a great Gael by a fine group of young Donegal Gaels
