CURRY NIGHT

Curry Night in Aid of the Donegal GAA Training Fund takes place on Friday 8th August from 6pm onwards. Come along for a great social night’s craic: we will have Traditional Music, Irish Dancing, and Curry for everyone in the audience. Our Minor & Senior teams are putting in the hard work on the field this is our chance to make a contribution to the squads & drive them on in their quest for All Ireland Glory. The curry night was a huge success last year and with your support we can make this year even better.

GOOD LUCK

Best of luck to the Donegal senior team on Saturday against Armagh (seemingly there’s been a lonely looking Armagh flag flying in Shroove this week). A win against Armagh would guarantee both Donegal seniors and minors playing in a all Ireland semi final. We would appeal to all members of the community to show their support with their flags for the Donegal teams.

MINOR BOYS

Hard luck to the under strength Moville Minor team who lost out to a strong Sean Mac Cumhaills in Ballybofey tonight by 8 points in the Minor Championship. Moville’s Donegal Minor players Ciaran and Tony were in fine form bossing the middle of the field throughout. The boys lost this game in the first half but produced an excellent second half performance with battling all over the field. Ciaran Diver had his scoring boots on tonight getting 10 of Movilles 18 points!

SENIOR LADIES

The Senior ladies had a good win in the 13 a side competition on Sunday in Termon. It was a high scoring exciting game with a score line of 5-15 to 5-07. Their next opposition is St. Eunan’s at home on Saturday night, please come along and support the senior ladies at home this weekend.

DONEGAL LADIES

Donegal ladies came within a whisker of causing a massive upset in the All-Ireland Qualifiers on bank holiday Monday, Kerry needing extra time and some luck to put the Tir Chonaill girls out. There was a lot of local interest in this fixture with senior ladies players Ciara Hegarty, Niamh McLaughlin and Sarah Jane McDonald in the squad which is managed by our very own Davy McLaughlin. With that sort of performance, Donegal’s Senior Ladies can push on from this and come back even stronger next season.

WELL DONE

Well done to the Donegal minor team who beat Roscommon in the all Ireland quarter final. A late comeback from Roscommon had all the nerves wrecked come the final whistle. A semi final place was up for grabs and it will be a momentous occasion for Tony McClenaghan and Ciaran Diver to be playing in Croke Park.
