By Sinéad Breen Donegal PRO Tue 22nd Jun

Championship 2021 kicks off for Donegal on Sunday in Páirc Esler Newry on Sunday at 1.00 pm. A knockout Championship from the off it will be a new experience for the players and should add an extra edge to proceedings.

In an online interview session organised by Ulster GAA this afternoon manager Declan Bonner confirmed that providing they come through this week’s training sessions, Michael Murphy, Jamie Brennan and Paul Brennan will all be available for selection. All three missed out on the penultimate league games and the Allianz League semi-final against Dublin. Jack McKelvey has also returned to training. On the down side, however, it was also confirmed that the soft tissue issue Odhrán MacNiallas picked up early in the Dublin game is likely to keep him out of the preliminary round fixture against Down nor has Andy McClean returned to training yet.

The game will be shown live on both RTE and BBC NI Sport. A virtual programme will be available from Saturday Evening and can be Downloaded from DonegalGAA.ie
