Malin GAA Club Notes 23/02/2015

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Club membership will be collected in the club house on a Sunday morning from 11am – 1pm from now until end of March. No membership will be accepted after the 31st of March. No one other than fully paid up club members for 2015 will be considered for all Ireland tickets. The cost of club membership is €20 per non-playing adult and €2 for non-playing child.

STRICTLY COME DANCING

Malin GAA will host a Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser in aid of our underage teams on Easter Sunday Night the 5th of April at 8.00pm in the Plaza, Buncrana. This is guaranteed to be a great nights craic with some club stalwarts, members and local stars taking to the dancefloor.This is one night you will not want to miss. Tickets will be available soon with high demand expected so save the date and keep up to date with the progress of our dancers and ticket information on Facebook.

ULSTER SENIOR LEAGUE

Malin lost out by six points against Lavey in the Ulster League last weekend. The Malin team on the day was Ruairi Kelly, Michael McLaughlin, Damien Harkin, James Gallagher, John Colm Doherty, Kieron McColgan, Paul McLaughlin, John Gerard Mc Laughlin, Daniel McDaid, Seamus Doherty, Brendan McLaughlin, Adam Byrne, Terence Doherty, Anthony Kelly and Gary Collins. Subs used were Thomas McLaughlin, Conor Byrne, Stephen Doherty, Jonathan McCarron , Niall McLaughlin and Noel McLaughlin. Malin are at home next Sunday against Eglish from Tyrone at 12.00 – This time may change so please check Facebook to confirm throw in time.

MINOR FIXTURE

Malin minors under the guidance of Patrick Collins, Paul Gallagher, John McLaughlin and Neil McGilloway get their season underway this weekend at home against Carndonagh on Saturday at 11.00am, all support welcome.

MALIN LADIES

The senior ladies start their league campaign this weekend away to Urris, Please check Facebook and local press for the day and throw in time.

ST PATRICK’S DAY BIG BREAKFAST

Malin ladies are running a Big Breakfast on St. Patrick’s day from 9.30 – 2.00 upstairs in the club house. This is a major fundraiser for our Ladies teams so come along and support the girls and enjoy a good breakfast to set you up for the day.

PITCH/SPORTSHALL BOOKING

Anybody that is planning to use the pitch or sports hall for training/matches must book the pitch by contacting Gerard McLaughlin 0868704255 or for the sports hall/clubhouse by contacting Susan Byrne on 0867832242.

U6 team training every Sunday from 10.00 – 11.15

U8 team training every Saturday from 3.00 – 4.15

U10 team training every Sunday from 11.30 – 1.00

U12 team training every Saturday from 4.30 – 6.00 and Tuesday from 5.45 – 7.00

U14 team training every Saturday from 9.30 – 11.00 and Tuesday from 5.30 – 7.00

U16 team training every Monday from 4.30 – 6.30

Senior and Reserve team training every Tuesday and Friday from 7.30 – 9.00

UNDERAGE/SENIOR GIRLS TRAINING

U6,U8 and U10 girls team training every Saturday from 11.00 – 12.30 U14 and U16 girls training every Wednesday from 5.15-6.15

Senior Ladies training every Tuesday and Thursaday from 7.30-8.30 indoor

LOTTO

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €800. Sequence drawn was 2-3-7-5-4-1-6. €50 winner was Jennifer Monagle, Drumaville. The €20 seller prize went to Bronagh McCarron, Drumcarbit. Next week’s jackpot is €850.

CLUB SHOP

The club shop is open every Saturday from 12.00 – 2.00and Sunday from 11.20 – 2.00 or alternatively contact Susan Byrne on 9370638 or 0867832242 . The shop has a great range of stock in all sizes including coats, jackets, hoodies, tracksuits, socks, shorts,hats and much more club merchandice.

WELL DONE

The club has another national title winner with Gary Farren and his Garda Colleagues winning the Trench Cup. Gary played at corner back against St Pat’s College who had county players Hugh McFadden (Donegal), John Small, Cormac Costello and Ciaran Kilkenny (all Dublin) among others in the ranks.
