MENS FOOTBALL

The Senior and Reserves were not in action over the weekend due to Donegal’s participation in the All Ireland Quarter Final. We entertain Gweedore in Connolly Park on Sunday in the All County League. Our Seniors have been on a good run of form recently and a victory on Sunday would go a long way to ensuring our Division 1 status for another year. Throw in for the reserve game is 1-30 while the senior match will get underway at 3 and we would encourage as much support as possible for both games on Sunday.

COUNTY MATTERS

Congratulations to Declan, Stephen and the rest of the Donegal squad on their victory over Armagh in Sundays All Ireland Quarter Final. All roads now lead to Croke Park on Sunday August 31st when both the Senior and Minors will take on Dublin for a place in the All Ireland Final.

FUNDRAISING DANCE

Tickets are currently on sale for a charity dance in memory of the late Bernie Collins in the Malin Hotel on Saturday the 23rd of August. The money raised will be split between the oncology unit in Letterkenny & St. Luke’s hospital Dublin as the family want to acknowledge these invaluable services. Why not come along for a ‘jive & a catch up’ and support these two very worthy causes.

CLUB SHOP

The Malin GAA club shop will be open in the clubhouse on Saturdays from 12-2 and on Sundays from 11-15 to 2-00. There are a large selection of club merchandise in stock, which can be purchased on the day. A list of other club gear, hoodies, rain jackets, shorts, socks, hats, scarves, kit bags etc are also available to order. The Malin half zipped training tops sponsored by Mark Monagle of 4Mark Construction are also available to order and are proving very popular. Club vouchers are now also available and would make an ideal birthday present, or for any occasion. For more details, contact Susan on 07493 70638.

LOTTO

There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €1150, sequence drawn was 2-5-4-7-1-6-3. €50 winner was Jim Quigley, Malin Head. Winner of the 20 euro sellers prize was Seamus Doherty (PM). Next weeks jackpot is €1200 and as always we would like to thank the local community for their continued support of our weekly lotto draw. Envelopes are just €2 or 3 for €5 euro and are available in most pubs and shops in the area or alternatively from our band of young eager sellers.

CLUB NOTES

Any items for the notes should be forwarded to Martin on 086 1585880 or Christina on 086 1980399 or alternatively send an email to the club email address pro.malin.donegal@gaa.ie at no later than 9 o clock on the Sunday evening.
