In an exciting game in Páirc na nGael, Carndonagh led until the third minute of added time when a Ciaran Cannon goal rescued the tie for the Letterkenny men, who ran out 4-5 to 2-9 winners. The Inishowen team got a dream start and were 2-1 to 0-0 ahead after ten minutes but the home side had turned around the game completely and led by 2-5 to 2-2 early in the second half before Carndonagh moved up a couple of gears, hitting six points on the bounce to lead 2-8 to 2-5. A McBrearty goal for Gaels levelled it up with five minutes to go but Carndonagh edged ahead again with another point as the end of normal time approached. Then Cannon’s goal, right at the death, gave the two league points to the Letterkenny side.
The two unbeaten teams in Division 4 met in Dooey on Saturday evening and the home side emerged on the right side of the result as Na Rossa triumphed with 1-9 to Moville’s 0-7. Moville still top the Division 4 table on points difference from unbeaten Na Rossa as they have played an additional game. Elsewhere in Division 4, Robert Emmets and Naomh Pádraig Leifer drew 0-12 to 1-9 and Naomh Pádraig Uisce Chaoin beat Pettigo on a 4-7 to 1-11 scoreline.
