Four Masters 2-17

Cloughaneely 0-5

A dream start for Four Masters with an early Calum McCrea goal and 1-6 without reply on the board in just over ten minutes. In fact it was the beginning of the second quarter before Cloich Cheann Fhaola raised a flag with a Sean Sharkey point. The Gaeltacht team had potentially their best spell of the game in the the second quarter but had only one more point to show for their efforts. They paid the price when Four Masters struck again in the few minutes before the break when Oisin Doherty both pointed and goaled to leave the Donegal town side with a 2-8 to 0-2 lead ag an leath amá.

Cloich Cheann Fhaola needed a strong start to the second half to rescue any chance of a recovery but it was the Masters’ boys who came racing out of the blocks. They added four answered points to kill off the game and were worthy champions. Our cover picture shows Four Masters captain Callum McCrea receiving the U-13 County Trophy from County Board representative Paddy Tinney.
