Donegal’s u-21 heroes from 1982 will be honoured at the Abbey Hotel tomorrow night

It is 40 years since Donegal’s under 21 squad brought the first senior county All-Ireland title to Donegal and planted the seeds for the long-awaited 1992 capture of the Sam Maguire. A 40-year reunion of the 1982 Donegal’s under 21 side takes place tomorrow night, Friday 7th October, in the Abbey Hotel Donegal Town on .

 

They won the Ulster title in early September with a two point 0-10 to 1-5 win against Derry and accounted for Laois in the semi-final in a low-scoring 0-5 to 0-4 fixture in Longford. The final n Carrick on Shannon on Sunday Oct 17 was another low-scoring affair with Donegal coming on victorious 0-8 to 0-5.
