There were three U21 championship games played this weekend and the most important was in O’Donnell Park where Burt defeated Naomh Colmcille to win the U21C title. The first half was evenly balanced with just a point between the sides on the stroke of half-time but a long-range Mark McElhinney free looped into the net to give Burt a decisive half time advantage and early second half goals from Matthew Doherty and Conor O’Donnell effectively decided the game. Final score Burt 3-10 Naomh Colmcille 0-8.
The other two u21 games were away victories for St Eunans in Donegal town and Termon at the Banks. The Eunan’s win over Four Masters saw them progress to the u-21A final and Termon’s victory over Naomh Muire earned them a place in the u21B final. Termon await the winners of Naomh Naille and Realt na Mara – scheduled for Páirc Gearóid O’Gallachóir next Saturday. In the u21A championship Naomh Conaill meet An Clochán Liath next Saturday and Na Cealla Beaga await the winners in the semi-final.
