Both Naomh Conaill and Naomh Naille survived spirited comebacks to secure their passage through to the Ulster Club Championship semi-finals this afternoon.

In Kingspan Breffni Park Naomh Conaill led by 1-10 to 0-6 when substitute Dermot Molloy split the posts with just his second involvement in  the 41st minute. It was to be their last score of the game until the fifth minute of added time when an Anthony Thompson insurance score made in 1-11 to 0-11, the final score. In between the Cavan champions Castlerahan hit five on the bounce but Ciaran Thompson’s first half goal proved vital. Naomh Conaill now advance to meet Clontibret O’Neills in the semi-final.

Goals by Peadar Mogan and Daniel Brennan either side of the break proved vital for Naomh Naille as they advance to meet Galbally Pearses – who won by the minimum 1-17 to 2-13 against Laragh United – winning in Corrigan Park by 2-11 to 1-10 against Aldergrove Naomh Seamus. The Antrim Champions closed the six point gap at the end of the first quarter back to three by the end of normal time but could fin no way through the Naomh Naille defence for the goal they needed in in those final minutes with the Donegal men winning on a 2-10 to 1-10 scoreline.
