Buncrana GAA Notes for Week Ending Sunday 6th July 2014

Senior Football
It wasn’t a good day for us at Moyle Park on Sunday and all the damage was done in the 2nd half with Milford bagging 3 goals to put us out of the game. We went in at half-time only a point behind but that’s football for you. Final result was Milford 4-16 Buncrana 1-12.

A high scoring game but unfortunately Reserves lost out by 5 points. Final score Milford (3-15) v (3-10) C.L.G. Bun Cranncha.

Senior Training
Seniors & Minors Hurling training is on Wednesdays at 7.00pm. All players are urged to make every effort to attend.

Club Jerseys
Elizabeth Anne is now taking orders for the new Buncrana club jersey. Keep in mind lads that they are player fit/tight fit. If you want to order one let her know the size and number on back you require, price €50. EA also has club shorts and white shorts are in stock.

Underage Reports
U14 Div 1 Football Northern Board Final on Saturday 5th July in St Marys, Convoy. It didn’t go well for Buncrana as they lost heavily to McCools. It appears that the occasion must have got to the boys as they simply didn’t perform. Even the McCools management admitted that they knew we could play better but we didn’t turn up at all. The boys will have a chance to show what they can really do when they meet Glenties in the All County semi-final next Saturday.

Saturday 12th July
County U14 Division 1Championship Semi Finals

Naomh Conaill v Buncrana 12:00pm Venue to be confirmed.

U10 Football
On Saturday Buncrana fielded 2 teams in a Blitz held by Letterkenny Gaels. A total of 24 kids from the town represented the club in a total of 6 games against St Mary’s Convoy, Robert Emmett’s and the hosts. With some fine footballing performances the kids did the club proud with several wins on the day. We’d like to thank the hosts Letterkenny Gaels and the coaches and parents who travelled for their help and support on the day.

U10 Training this week only, will be held on Saturday morning at 10am , 12th July.

U8 and U10 ‘Have a Go’ Hurling day on Sunday 6th July in the Scarvey was a great success with loads of kids turning up, some of them picking up a hurley for the first time. The kids really enjoyed it and we hope to see many of them back again at 11am next Sunday. If you weren’t there on Sunday it’s not too late to start! Come along and give it a try. Newcomers between the ages of 6-10 most welcome, no equipment needed as all will be provided.
