Mizen to Malin Club Fundraiser
Here’s a New Year challenge for you! Some members are pondering the idea of a sponsored cycle from Mizen to Malin – that’s the hard way, cycling uphill rather than down! It is hoped that this could be a main fundraiser for the club along with a local charity.
Anybody interested in doing the cycle or helping organise please contact Brian Stokes. This will be a big undertaking and a lot of help will be needed in a variety of roles.
It could prove a good fundraiser for the Club and sure to generate a lot of goodwill too. Suggestions as to what local charity we should support welcome too.

Garda Vetting

New Garda Vetting forms have been in place since July 2014. We are looking at loading the forms to our website to make it easier for club member to access them. Any club member who has responsibility for or contact with underage members in the course of their involvement with the club has to be Garda vetted. In the meantime, you can get copies of the forms from the Club Secretary, Grainne Ui Chearain, or Child Protection Officer, Sean Clerkin.

North West Coaching Awards

Nominations for the NW Coaching Awards are now open. The North West Coaching Awards are designed to honour sports coaches who have demonstrated outstanding success over the previous 12 months. The North West Coaching Network identify the need to recognise and reward those coaches who consistently give their all to grow sport and develop their athletes and participants. You can find all the required information on the link below including the supporting information and nomination forms, in addition to a great video capturing the impact of last year’s awards.

Underage News

The new Code of Behaviour (Underage) came into effect on 1 November 2014. This is a joint Code shared by all of the Gaelic Games Associations.
