By Sinéad Breen Donegal PRO Tue 27th Jan

Club Meeting

The first club executive meeting of the year takes place this Thursday, 29th January at 8.30pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. All members of the club executive are asked to attend.

Registration 2015

Club membership for 2015 is now due and all club members are asked to submit their registration form and fee at their earliest convenience. Membership can be paid to Mary Matthews at Shannon’s Corner. Players can also download registration forms from aodhruadh.org and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager. Registration sessions will be organised for teams over the coming weeks and it is essential all players are signed up club members. We will also be having a number of open registration sessions throughout February and March to facilitate members in the wider community.

Football

Under 16 training continues in the Mercy Hall on Wednesday from 7pm to 8pm and on Friday from 8pm to 9pm.

Indoor training continued last Friday for under 6s, 8s, 10s and 12s with big groups in both the Mercy and New Halls at Colaiste Cholmcille. We got brilliant numbers the first night back and you can see pictures from the action up on aodhruadh.org. New-comers are still very much welcome. Indoor training continues this Friday 30th January. The 2015 Under 6s [Born 2009-2011] are in the Mercy Hall at Colaiste Cholmcille from 6pm to 7pm followed by the under 8s [Born 2007-2008] from 7pm to 8pm, also in the Mercy Hall. 2015 under 10s [Born 2005-2006] are training in the new hall at Colaiste Cholmcille from 6pm to 7pm. That session is followed by the 2015 under 12s [Born 2003-2004] from 7pm to 8pm, also in the new hall. There is a charge of €2 per head. Please bring your own water and wear runners as no other footwear allowed. Parents/Guardians are asked to please collect children promptly after their session is finished.

Many thanks to those who have been supporting us with the Lucozade Kit Out Project. We are not asking people to start buying Lucozade, but could anyone who does drink it please note the code on the bottle under the wrapper and pass it to Tracey Flood. Codes will be added to our account and we get some free kit. Please pass this on to your friends or anyone you know that drinks Lucozade and ask them to keep codes for the club. The more codes we collect the more gear we can get.

Hurling

Donegal took on Fermanagh in a challenge in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh on Sunday afternoon. Aodh Ruadh’s Paul Sheridan and Eddie Lynch started with Ciaran Kilgannon and Jack Matthews coming on from the bench. We have a report and pictures from the game up on aodhruadh.org.

Underage hurling resumes on Sunday 1st March, this year again we are hoping to field 6 underage teams. There is a lot of work involved in that and we are looking for some help. No experience necessary, all help no matter how little will be appreciated. We really need help at U 14 level, if we can’t get some more people willing to help out with teams we may not be able to field at some age groups. Anyone willing to get involved in underage hurling is asked to contact John Rooney 086-2587793.
