Registration 2015

Club membership for 2015 is now due and all club members are asked to submit their registration form and fee at their earliest convenience. Membership can be paid to Mary Matthews at Shannon’s Corner or contact Betty McIntyre on 0872363879. Players can also download registration forms from aodhruadh.org and submit this along with the relevant fee directly to their manager. Registration sessions will be organised for teams over the coming weeks and it is essential all players are signed up club members. We will also be having a number of open registration sessions throughout February and March to facilitate members in the wider community.

Football

Aodh Ruadh commenced pre-season preparation with a game of four 20 minute quarters against Melvin Gaels on Sunday in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. It wasn’t an ideal day for football, being windy, wet, dull and overcast, but there was an encouraging display from the homesters. A few new faces, both returnees and young prospects showed up well as Aodh Ruadh emerged the better of the sides over the 80 minutes, Nathan Boyle, Philip Patton and Callum O’Halloran all catching the eye. A well-drilled Ballyshannon also impressed in the defensive sector as they contained the Leitrim side manfully. We have some pictures from the match up on aodhruadh.org.

Our minors start their 2015 league campaign next Sunday 22nd February, away to Naomh Ultan in Dunkineely with a 12 noon throw in.

With the Mercy Hall unavailable due to mock examinations, under 6 and under 8 indoor training will be taking a three week break as of this Friday. This means there will be no training on Friday 20th February, 27th February and 6th March. Training resumes in the Mercy Hall at the usual times for under 6s and under 8s on Friday 13th March.

Indoor training continues this Friday 20th February for under 10s in the new hall at Coláiste Cholmcille from 6pm to 7pm followed by the under 12s from 7pm to 8pm, also in the new hall. Under 10s and 12s are asked to remember to bring their registration forms and fees to this week’s session where Bord na nÓg secretary Lisa McTernan will be on hand to collect. PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS A CHARGE OF €2 PER HEAD TO COVER THE COST OF HALL HIRE. Please bring your own water and wear runners as no other footwear allowed. Parents/Guardians are asked to please collect children promptly after their session is finished.
