Comhghairdeas CLG Gaoth Dobhair, 2022 Michael Murphy Sports u21 champions following a titanic struggle with Termon in O’Donnell Park on Saturday afternoon. Termon were first on the board but a 12th minute Fionnan Coyle goal put Gaoth Dobhair ahead for the first time. Termon had the sides level again within five minutes 0-4 to 1-1 and while Gaoth Dobhair responded well a Bobby McGettigan goal left the Burn Road side 1-4 to 1-3 in front at leath amá.

In 30 minutes of normal time in the second half a single point was scored, leaving it 1-4 apiece entering a dramatic few minutes of added time when two penalty awards, the first converted by Stiofan Mac Phaidín to give Gaoth Dobhair the advantage and the equaliser for Termon by Ryan McFadden. Gaoth Dobhair responded to two points on the bounce for Termon with two of their own to leave it level at 2-6 each going into the second half of extra time.

Termon again took an early lead but Eoin De Burca netted in the 3rd minute to give Gaoth Dobhair a two point advantage. Garry McFadden converted an advance mark to leave the bare minimum between the sides as Termon threw everything at Gaoth Dobhair in the final stages but a point from Cathal Mac Giolla Easpaig in the 2nd minute of added time clinched the championship for the men from Machaire Gathlán.
