CLG Dhún na nGall are pleased to announce the appointment of Declan Bushell, as Donegal Head of Games.
Declan was interviewed for the position by the GAA Coaching and Games Development department, in Croke Park, for the Head of Games position, a new role within the GAA which replaces the previous role of Games Development Manager (GDM).
Declan had been acting in the role of GDM for the last ten months.
Prior to this Declan was the Donegal GAA Coach Education co-ordinator and has extensive experience working with all teams along the player pathway and within his club.
In his role, Declan will be responsible for Coaching & Games Development activities in Donegal. This is a broad brief that includes primary schools, secondary schools, third level (ATU), summer camps, coach education, Academy/Development Squads and the management of Donegal Coaching Staff.
Declan is a Na Ceithre Máistir clubman, where he is active as Club Coaching Officer. In this role, he helped structure their successful underage development programme. He has vast experience in sports development having previously worked with Ulster Rugby as Development Officer.
Recently, Declan has completed a Masters in Sports Performance with ATU Donegal.
“This is an important appointment for Donegal GAA as there is a reorganisation of full-time roles taking place within the GAA nationally. Declan brings a wealth of experience to the role. He is an active coach with his club and has continued his education in sport with his recent Masters Degree.” said Donegal GAA Coaching Officer Michael McGeehin
Donegal GAA congratulate Declan on his appointment and wish him every success in his new role.
