What a day for Scoil An Choimín as they completed a double in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Indoor Football finals held at the Aileach Indoor Facility.
The boys were a bit downbeat as they lost their first game to Mín Tine Dé but recovered to reach the semi-final as group runners up where they defeated Illistrin NS in a very close contest.
In the final Coimín overcame the challenge of Inisheoin’s Gaelscoil Cois Feabhaill to take home the first of their titles.
Not to be out done the Coimín girls qualified as group winners, defeating Glencovitt NS and Scoil Iosagáin on the way to their semi final with Scoil Mhuire Glenties.
In their semi final , the Coimín girls got the better of South West rivals Glenties, setting up a final against the school they beat narrowly in the group phase, Scoil Iosagáin from Buncrana.
This was another close match between two good teams. It was level for a time but Coimín took their points well and won on a score of Coimín 1-4 scoil Iosagáin 1-2.
Over 70 schools took part in the regional qualifiers, with the top teams qualifying for the county finals.
Scoil An Choimín now represent Dún na nGall in the Ulster Finals to be held 28th March in Magherafelt.
