Malin’s draw with Buncrana this afternoon guarantees them Division 1 football next year. With one game remaining Sean MacCumhaills and Downings can both get the same number of league points but Malin won the head to head encounters against both and their score difference in the “games involved between the teams involved in the tie” is best {see link at bottom of this post to the regulations, page 3 15 ii)}. Depending on the results in the final round of games on July 23rd one of Milford, MacCumhaills and Downings will be automatically promoted with Malin and the other two will play in a promotion playoff the following weekend.

At the foot of Division 2, three out of Red Hughs, Moville and Naomh Naille will be automatically relegated and one of them will go on to play in the relegation play-off with either Letterkenny Gaels and Convoy. Convoy need a win in their final game against Moville and to hope that Lettwrkenny Gaels slip up in Dungloe.
