The final game of the Grand Canal Spring hurling league was played tonight with Sean MacCumhaills winning against Aodh Ruadh.
The Hurling championship this year will be run on a league basis with seven rounds and begins on June 3rd. The first round of fixtures are scheduled as follows:

Fri, 3 June, Hibernian Park, Beart v Naomh Ádhamhnáin
The regulations governing the Hurling championship are below:
E Hurling
32. The Hurling Championships shall be 15 a side
1. The Senior summer league would involve seven round robin games. The top four teams would play in a Senior Championship semi-final format (1 v 4 and 2 v 3). The bottom four teams would play in an Intermediate Championship semi-final format (1 v 4 and 2 v 3) (Based on the placings 5=1, 6=2,7=3, 8=4, With the winning teams playing in the top four playing in the 2022 Senior Hurling Final and the Intermediate winners playing in the 2022 Intermediate Final.
2. The top four in the Junior Summer league would play in the Junior Championship semi-finals (1 v 4 and 2 v 3). The remaining teams would play in the Junior B Championship semi-finals.
3. All senior and intermediate teams must name their first 12 players that cannot play Junior Hurling. Any player that plays in the Intermediate or Senior Hurling championship semi-finals will not be eligible to play in the Junior Championship.
4. A club that wins the Junior Championship will be promoted to the senior league the following year, however,if a club with a second team wins the Junior Championship there will be no promotion. The losing semi-finalists from the Intermediate Championship will play off. The losers of this game will be relegated to the Junior league. However there will be no relegation play off in the event a club’s second team win the Junior Championship.
