Carrickmore is the venue for what promises to be a very tough test of Donegal’s ambition to retain the Nickey Rackard Championship in 2021. Opponents Tyrone have home venue by virtue of a stirring comeback that seen them overhaul a seven point deficit late in the game to beat Armagh.
With the Red Hand county looking in good shape, and full of confidence, there are some injury worries for Donegal with Danny Cullen having missed recent games and Declan Coulter going off after a heavy knock against Leitrim in the quarterfinal. Ronan McDermott is definitely out following his red card in Carrick on Shannon. In an interview with Highland Radio’s Oisin Kelly the Donegal manager Mickey McCann welcomed Joe Boyle back into the panel but suggested while he could make the squad for the game it was probably too soon for him to make the starting 15. The Donegal panel will be released later today.
Earlier in the week, Tyrone GAA have confirmed that the match will not be streamed live. Rather, with no effective restrictions on attendance and the ambition to reach their first Nickey Rackard final they are encouraging supporters to buy tickets online via their ticket master account.
The Donegal squad would appreciate a matching crowd of Donegal fans as they seek to become the first side to retain the Nickey Rackard. Donegal supporters can purchase tickets via the link below.
