Two Donegal players – Niall O’Donnell and Caolan McGonagle – both in unfamiliar positions made the Official GAA’s Football Team of the week after Donegal’s UFC quarterfinal win over Derry.
Niall hit three fine points from play and Caolan contributed two crucial scores early in the second half to Keep Donegal in touch when Derry were threatening to pull away. Michael Langan with three fine scores is unlucky that he does not also make the team of the week. Niall was also honoured as the RTE and BBC Man of the Match.
