Last night in Ballybofey, Gary Duffy’s u20 side made light work of Armagh’s challenge in their preliminary round tie in Páirc Sheáin Mhic Cumhaill. The Orchard County kept in touch for the first quarter trailing by just a single point on a 0-4 to 0-3 score at the first water-break. Donegal were already looking the better side and pressed home their advantage to the maximum in the second quarter and when an Eoin Dowling goal just before half-time moved the home side 1-8 to 0-4 ahead Armagh were left facing a stiff second half challenge. Donegal, however, put on the afterburners in the second period and ran out comfortable 1-17 to 0-8 winners.
The 20s next outing is this coming Friday night, July 10th, against Tyrone in Healy Park. A selection of photos from last night’s game have been uploaded to our website and can be found at the link below.
