CLG Dhún na nGall lost one of its most potent ever forwards yesterday with the sad passing of Joe Dodo Winston. A key member of the Donegal’s first ever Ulster title winning team in 1972 and still firing over the scores in 1974 when they won their second he was also part of the back room team that brought Donegal’s second All-Ireland u21 title to the hills in 1987.
His greatest football love was Naomh Ádhamhnáin whom he served for many years as a player, manager and mentor at Senior and underage grades. The County Board extends its sympathies to his sons Kevin and Darren, his wider family and the St Eunans club – ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anam dilis.
