All over Donegal, at dusk, this evening clubs and households lit 14 candles, or otherwise commemorated with 14 lights, the 100th anniversary of the murder of 14 innocent Gaels at Croke Park on November 21st 1920 – a few sample photos are shown below and the cover shows 14 in the window of the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy.
The day was marked by series of commemorations by the GAA notably before and after the Leister final. In that match Dublin cantered home against Meath and will meet the winners of tomorrow’s Ulster final in Armagh in the All-Ireland semi-final.
