Victories this weekend for St Mary’s Convoy and Carndonagh confirmed them as the top two teams in Section A. Convoy progress directly to the semi-finals and Carndonagh will have home advantage against the third placed team in Section B. Naomh Pádraig Uisce Chaoin put on a spirited show against the Group winners, Convoy, in yesterday’s game and led 1-5 to 0-5 at half-time. Their defeat means Urris, who didn’t play yesterday, qualified in third place to play the runners up in Section B.

In Section B Na Rossa ended on a high by securing their first win of the championship, against Robert Emmets. The top three teams were already qualified before today’s game and the fight was for placings. Moville’s win against Letterkenny Gaels sent them to the top of the Group and their outstanding fixture against Downings will determine the top two and who goes directly to the semi-final. Downings could fall to third place but would need to ship a thirteen point defeat for this to transpire.
The game is scheduled for 15.00, next Sunday Sept 6th in Downings.
