Last Friday the CCCC in Croke Park issue guidelines to all counties on the organisation and presentation of club fixtures during the Covid-19 emergency. These guidelines were posted on this site but it was noted that County Boards had leeway to amend or add additional regulations if required. Choiste Cheannais na gComortaisí Dhún na nGall (CCC) have availed of this flexibility and made a limited number of changes to ensure all grounds in the County can accommodate appropriate social distancing.
In particular, all club grounds in Donegal may not be able to implement the guideline that each team be allocated a side of the pitch. The key changes the CCC have made to the Croke Park guidelines are aimed at overcoming this difficulty. Thus, the number of officials and panel members within the pitch enclosure is reduced so that each team now have an area on each half of the pitch – between the 20 m and 45 m lines – to allow social distancing.
A panel of 20 – 15 players plus 5 substitutes – will be allowed within the pitch enclosure along with the bainisteoir, maor foirne, medic and one designated club official. For hurling fixtures a maor camán is also allowed. Other substitutes and officials can be accommodated outside the pitch enclosure.
The amended match regulations, specifically for Club Fixtures in Donegal, are now uploaded on the Donegal GAA website and can be fund on the “Admin” tab and at the link below:
