On this Sunday in June, in recent years Donegal Gaels would be preparing for a trip to Clones for the Ulster final. Sadly, Covid-19 has turned our worlds upside down but the country is now, thankfully, on the way back from the pandemic lockdown. Our pitches are opening next week for adult and underage training and club fixtures are allowed resume from July 17th. The GAA Community in Donegal has risen well to the challenges posed by the pandemic with all 40 clubs stepping up to the plate with a range of activities from helping the isolated and vulnerable to fund-raising ventures for an array of charities (see Link Below).
The Donegal Minor squad are also make a small but important contribution – devising and demonstrating a range of exercises aimed at encouraging young players throughout the County to keep fit by repeating 30 times or for 30 seconds, depending on the drill. On each of the 30 days in June a minor squad volunteer has a 30 second demo posted across CLG Dhún na nGall social media – today Tiarnan McBride, Na Dunaibh demonstrates the 21st in the #30for 30 Challenge – the lateral lunge.
