CLG Dhún na nGall is pleased to announce the number of Scholarships to the Gaeltacht will more than double this year. This follows collabouration between the county board, Conradh na Gaeilge and Colaiste Ghaoth Dobhair to provide a total of 26 part-scholarships, worth almost €5,000, for our young GAA members.
CLG Dhún na nGall will make 6 x €250 scholarships availabe to young GAA club members. These are payable to students who attend any Gaeltacht college in Donegal. Conradh na Gaeilge will make a further 5 x €200 scholarships available to young GAA club members attending any of the following Gaeltacht colleges – Loch an Iúir, Rann na Feirste or Teileann. This is the third year in succession Conradh na Gaeilge and CLG Dhún na nGall have co-operated to provide financial support to youth with an interest in developing their command of the Irish language.
This year, for the first time, we are pleased to announce Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair are offering 15 x €150 scholarships to young GAA club members. These are confined to those who wish to attend Coláiste Ghaoth Dobhair. All payments will be made by Cisteoir Bord na Condae CLG Dhún na nGall as soon as they are received from Conradh na Gaeilge and Colaiste Ghaoth Dobhair.
Application forms will be available to clubs at the April County Committee Meeting. It is important that the GAA club and GAA registration number of the applicant is included along with the college they wish to attend. By mid-February, application forms will also be downloadable from this site, www.donegalgaa.ie Further information on all the Gaeltacht colleges in the county is available on their respective websites.
