A busy day in Donegal football begins today at 12 noon at the Centre of Excellence in Convoy when Naomh Ádhamhnáin (who have an Ulster hurling quarterfinal tomorrow and u21 championship today) get the weekend’s action underway when they meet Sean Mac Cumhaill in the Senior C final. In O’Donnell Park, the Cathedral town’s other representatives Letterkenny Gaels feature in a double header of Junior finals meeting Urris at 2.00 in the B final and Buncrana at 4.00 in the A final.
They are not finals in name but bear all the hallmarks in Gaoth Dobhair at 2.00 and in Convoy at 7.00 when the Relegation play-offs get underway. In Machaire Gathlán, Naomh Ultan and Downings meet in the Intermediate play-off with the losers playing Junior championship next season while in Páirc Naomh Mhuire in Convoy Ardara will take heart from their fantastic, but ultimately futile comeback, against An Clochán Liath when they meet Malin. Ardara will play their football in Division 1 next season and will be very anxious to remain in the Senior championship. Malin’s 2020 season sees them in Division 3 but they should not be underestimated. They competed well in the first half of their semi-final playoff until the last quarter and scared the daylights out of Division 1 Realt na Mara in the first half of their Group game in Connolly Park and lost narrowly to Termon to go into these play-offs.
There are four u-21 Michael Murphy Sports and Leisure Championship games scheduled for the today must all end on the day. If teams are level after extra time then penalties decide who progress. The full list of Adult fixtures are:
