Eight minutes into the second half Ardara looked in serious trouble in their Senior Championship relegation playoff against Malin. However, the Division 1 side hit 1-5 without reply before Malin scored their next point with just seven minutes to play to make it 3-7 to 2-8. It was an isolated response as the momentum was with Ardara who cruised to the final whistle and run out 2-14 to 3-8 winners.
In the Intermediate relegation play-off the game was in the balance until the fourth minute of added time when a James Byrne goal for Naomh Ultan gave them a four point lead and condemned Na Dúnaibh to Junior football in 2020.
