CLG Dhun na nGall approved the new updated Child Safeguarding Statement for 2019 to May 2021. This Statement has been approved by the county executive and adopted by County committee on Monday 7th of October.
The purpose of this safeguarding statement is to indicate the practices and procedures we observe in our Association that ensure, as far as practicable, that children are safe from harm. This Statement meets all Guidelines set out by Children First Legislation 2015. County Children’s Officer, Gary Duffy is pleased by the positive response by our clubs throughout the county in relation to safeguarding requirements, stating clubs are ensuring the all personnel and coaches working with young people meets the legislation set out by Children First Act 2015 and our Association Gaelic Games Safeguarding Policies and great strides have been made by clubs to be compliant. County Chairman Mick Mc Grath encourages clubs to continue to prioritizes child safeguarding procedures and outline the importance of the welfare of our children involve in our association to be safe from harm.
