Ard an Ratha captain Conor Classon was presented with the Division 2 trophy last night by sponsor Francie Marley, following a comprehensive win against Dungloe.

The three-way battle to join them in Division 1 next year took a decisive swing today when the tie between two of the contenders Naomh Naille and Aodh Ruadh ended in stalemate. The weekend’s results were:

Glenfin 1-12 Naomh Columba 1-12
Ardara 2-20 Dungloe 1-12
Buncrana 0-8 Termon 3-12
Killybegs 2-14 Naomh Columba 0-13
Glenfin 3-13 Four Masters 1-14
St Naul’s 1-13 Aodh Ruadh 0-16

Na Cealla Beaga’s win at home to Naomh Columba leaves them a point above both Aodh Ruadh and Naomh Naille with just one round of games left to play and makes them favourites for the second promotion spot. Aodh Ruadh entertain champions Ardara next Saturday while Nauls travel to Glen to play Naomh Columba. Na Cealla Beaga go to the Burn Road to play Termon who have nothing to play for except pride. The two chasing teams can take hope from 2018 when Termon in the last league game of the season also had little to play for but still derailed Sean MacCumhaills chance to win the Division 2 championship by winning in Ballybofey.
