Two defeats over the weekend condemned Buncrancha to Division 3 football next year but the fight for survival at the bottom of Marley Travel Division 2 is not quite over. The league table is unpleasant reading for Four Masters but their fate is still to be sealed as the fixture run-in affords them some hope. Four Masters need to win both their remaining matches – against Glenfin (A) and Buncrana (H). Buncrana have nothing to play for while Glenfin may, or may not, still be in danger of dropping when they meet Four Masters next Sunday. Naomh Columba face promotion chasers Killybegs and St Nauls in their two final games which gives some hope for the Donegal side. Crucially, Naomh Columba will look to secure survival before Four Masters kick another football by winning their catch-up game in Glenfin next Friday evening. With Glenfin also needing the points to ensure safety it will not be easy for Naomh Columba and a Glenfin win might also make for an easier run-in for the Donegal town side.

Adding to the mix, Gleann Fhinne are also in the running for the Reserve League title. There were four Reserve games played today with wins for Aodh Ruadh, Glenfin and Ardara while Dungloe drew with Naomh Naille. While Dungloe are still in contention, the title looks like a straight fight between Na Cealla Beaga and Gleann Fhinne. Killybegs are a point ahead of Glenfin but have an extra game played.
